Michael Renner
In his position as the DVIRC director of business development for Bucks County and Northeast Philadelphia, Mike assists manufacturers in evaluating and analyzing operational strengths and weaknesses. He then guides them in selecting and connecting with the appropriate DVIRC content experts for enhancing operational success and business growth. Additionally, Mike serves as an advocate for manufacturers seeking access to local, state and federal resources and programs.
Mike has more than two decades of experience in diverse manufacturing and operations management positions. His has held positions in plant, compliance, and site operations management, project engineering and manufacturing engineering management. Since joining DVIRC, he has worked with over 250 DVIRC clients, on more than 430 projects involving top-line growth initiatives, Lean and other continuous improvement programs.
A graduate of Kean University, Mike holds a BA in Industrial Technology, as well as an AAS in Mechanical Engineering from Morris County College. He is a member of the Philadelphia Drug Exchange, a pharmaceutical industry group, and has served on the organization’s scholarship committee. Mike is a past member of the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the Association for Manufacturing Excellence.
Significant Accomplishments
- Developed and implemented company-wide inventory procedures that reduced waste by 35%.
- Led a company project to eliminate non-value-adding operations, achieving a total cost savings of $700,000.
- Assisted a manufacturer in gaining the ISO certification needed to attract and retain customers. As a result, the company added approximately $150,000 in new sales while retaining existing sales.
